Waking at 5:30am in the morning on Monday, looked forward to my first day at Hewlett Packard with great joy and eagerness


Catch the bus to the interchange then wait for the mrt and sat all the way to Queensway then transferred bus 51 , cross the overhead bridge to the underpass leading to Alexandra Technopark and walked from Block 438 A to Block 438 B


Reached there at 8:16am
Being an early bird is always good... well almost all the time...
Watching people coming in, groups after groups, i stopped at the Directory which showed which company occupied which floor. Was SHOCK to see so many Hewlett Packard Pte Ltd (Singapore)


So.. i called my supervisor(I thought she was), but she didn't pick up....
so i proceeded to call my Liason Officier
Guess what?
No reply as well..
Checked the time.. 8:20am.. okay.. maybe they not in office yet...
So i just continue calling
till 8 :40am ... my "supervisor" line got through and she directed me to Lobby 1 level 5 to go for Orientation.. then.. i attended the Induction/Orientation and joined the newly employed HP professional group


Quite cool experience, seeing these people including ourself introducing ourselves and going through the induction... quite interactive and not that BORING
Guess what
Hewlett Packard was discovered by 2 friends in a Garage in Amercia
and it was called Hewlett Packard because of a COIN TOSS
it could have been Packard Hewlett
L O L... funny man

Then.. know about the E - Benefits that HP grants to its employee.
Definately a great company i would seriously consider joining after getting my diploma


Halfway through the induction, my "supervisor" talked to me. Then i ask where i was going to sit.. guess what she said, " You can't start work today! Cause your school Liason Officier never confirm with me that you are coming and he never send the confirmation letter so we weren't expecting you. I will sort this out with your Liason Officier. We have a lot to talk about"
Speaking in a rather angry tone... toward the end


I was like " WTH"
OMG
wasted my time to wake up so early lo...
then now.. no need work.. and i am still unconfirmed by HP due to my LO...ZZZZ
GRHHHHHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh
Anyway, i finished the induction and proceeded to take my photo for my ID (if there were any)
then i left for lunch ALONE

Went to IKEA planning to eat inside the cafeteria there but.. it was so packed... can't blame the lunchtime crowd... so i settled for burger king instead
Ate a Mushroom Swiss double meal and read 3 chapter of Da Vinci Code
then.. Alvin Teo WeiKiat called me


Answering his call, kept whining to him about today.... then he was going back to school after his interview at microsoft singapore. So i decided to go back to school to try out our new canteen...
took bus 14 to bedok and transferred to 69
Saw Shiyu and Alvin waiting for me and talked to Dennis(My Brother from IT school) .... then ate AGAIN. Not a bad environment but nothing too fancy in our canteen


Talking to Shiyu, was telling him how wonderful if they have OU LUA(Osyter Fried) and Satay and Sambal Stringray... WOO... BIG BUCK SURE ROLL in!!!!


Then was intending to complain to Shawen about my Liason Officier and changing a new LO but... in the end , decided to give him 1 more chance before i took any action
Aren't lecturer supposed to be super responsible?
Slack at Shiyu 's FYP lab with alvin and played.. NEOPETS... L O L
Then... we splitted up.. Shiyu went to find his GF
Alvin had a headache and cabbed home


ME?
Walked out of TP..... then saw Bling.. and talked to her on the way out...
I miss Frozone people... although i am out of the club but well.. still treat u people as my friends
Hope you guys do too =)
After that, went to buy bubble tea
and went home to rest


Tuesday was spent SLACKING


Wednesday(TODAY) was a very fruitful day, got a brief idea of what i would be doing from my supervisor, Mr Winston Wong , a very nice and patient supervisor who is a fellow Christian
Quite inspired by his desk, lots of Quotation and bible verses


He told me that at HP , there were using ColdFusion to program their website and webpages
which meant i had to learn a new language....
Going to TRY my BEST at it


He asked me to hang around while he attended a meeting from 10am to around 1:30pm
and i didn't just HANG around
Went and tried the tech support system and found it contain a few bugs but overall quite well done although the interface could be better
and perhaps a newer database design was required to improve the existing system
Read the pervious Intern Report and Suggestion and found it very useful in my understanding of the system...


then when he came back, i explored the system more under his guidance and he pointed out a bug he hope i can try to solve. Regarding Login ... i think is the session problem
Did real - time changes to the system... with his guidance of course
Not bad...
Being in charge of the tech support website , going to try my best to make the most out of this experience


My Office ROCKS...
Own CPU (Great Specifications ... very fast and not laggy)
A great Pantry (Free Coffee or Lipton Tea and even SNACK(we can bring along our own)
but people there... so sad...
Went lunch alone oppsite Alexandra Hospital
(Ate at one of the coffeeshop which SOLD absolutely Heavenly Seafood Hor Fun $4 but i give it around 4 1/2 STAR upon 5)


Tomorrow , going to work in casual clothing ... after FORMAL for 2 days (Mon and Wednesday)
Pray to God that it will be another meaningful day at work and may he guide me in learning the new language


Must thanks my new supervisor Mr Winston Wong .... lend me book home to read somemore.... What a great superior... with no airs.... a humble man indeed
but superbly busy.... meeting after meeting
haha
K... will share more of my working experience when i have the time
